Camino Packing List:

What I was glad I carried — and what I wasn’t ...

Ask ten pilgrims what to pack for the Camino, and you’ll get ten different answers.
But there is one lesson almost everyone agrees on:

You will start with too much — and finish wishing you had less.

What Truly Matters:

After days on the road, these things become essential:

  • Comfortable, already-tested walking shoes

  • A light backpack you can carry all day

  • A few changes of clothing (layers matter more than quantity)

  • Rain protection, glasses and a cap or a hut

  • Basic first aid and foot care

  • Your pilgrim credential

  • Some cash money and debit/credit card

  • Portable bottle for water & some instant energy food (cereal bars, dry seeds, etc.)

Everything else slowly loses importance.

What Many Pilgrims Regret Packing

  • Extra clothes “just in case”

  • Heavy gadgets

  • Things packed for fear, not necessity

The Camino teaches simplicity — often faster than we expect.

A Personal Lesson

Every extra kilo becomes part of your thoughts after 20 kilometers. Sometimes those extra kilos make your injuries (blisters, knee & feet pain ...) start or get worse.
And every unnecessary object becomes a reminder to let go, like life ...

Pack light. Be light.
Trust the Camino.
